My son Ram wants to be a doctor — like his grandfather.
Choosing the right medical college is one of the most important decisions he will make in his life, and as his father, my job is to help him make it well. But the counselling system — KEA, MCC, categories, quotas, rounds, closing ranks, fees — is genuinely hard to understand, even for those of us who sit down and try.
So I used AI and publicly available data to build a tool that makes the complex simple: it visualises the whole process, shows where a rank realistically lands, and turns a bewildering maze into something a family can actually reason about together.
It helped Ram enormously. I wanted every family to have the same help — for free — which is why NEETExplorer is open to everyone.

BDS opens up at ranks well beyond MBBS, at much lower fees.
The All India Rank from the NEET scorecard — not the score, not the state rank. It is usually a 4–7 digit number.
Affects government and reserved seats. Management, deemed and NRI seats are open to every category.
KEA uses these five, not a single OBC bucket.
NRI seats need a sponsor who lives abroad (usually a parent or close relative), with relationship proof and attested documents. Being able to pay the fee is not enough. If you pick “Not sure”, NRI seats are shown but marked unconfirmed.
371(J) is approximate here: the real rule is 70% within region colleges and 8% statewide, which this tool does not model separately.
